2014 S63 AMG®

The most powerful high-performance saloon in the luxury segment sets new standards in terms of driving dynamics, lightweight construction and efficiency. The 5.5 liter V8 bi-turbo engine now produces 585hp and 664 lb-ft of torque. Add the AMG® Performance 4MATIC® all-wheel drive and this beast puts the power down and gets you to 60 mph right a 4 seconds, which is unbelievable for the size of this vehicle. The boys in Affalterbach have put it on a diet and it now weights 220 lbs. less than its predecessor. Surprisingly the S63 still gets 22 mpg not that it matters if you own this car. Just like the standard S550 the S63 AMG® is the words first production car with all LED lighting and the AMG® version is now the words first production vehicle with a lightweight lithium ion battery. The 2014 S-Class World Premiere

The 2014 S-Class had its world premiere this morning. The vehicle was designed with three principals in mind: Intelligent Drive, Efficient Technology and the Essence of Luxury. The goal is to build “the best automobile in the world” and as always they delivered on that goal.

2014 S-Class All LED Lighting

The 2014 S-Class coming this fall will be the first vehicle with all LED lighting! There will not be a single incandescent light bulb used for interior or exterior lighting. The S-Class accomplishes this feet by utilizing 490 LEDs. The recent surge in the use of LEDs is because the life expectancy of an LED is 3 times the average life expectancy of the vehicle itself. They also require a less energy to power and are more responsive. The S-Class also uses a mask to direct the light around cars ahead of you and away from cars heading in your direction. In both instances the purpose is to not blind or distract the drivers around you.
