2015 S-Class Coupe

 

As we have mentioned before the S-Class will be offered in many different body styles including a coupe. That means the end of the CL-Class nameplate; it will now be the S-Class Coupe. We have already been introduced to the 2014 S-Class, the ultimate benchmark for the luxury sedan and the coupe will follow in its ground breaking footsteps. It’s hard to see with all the camouflage, but it seems as if the coupe has been styled a lot more aggressively than its previous counterpart. In its old age the current CL-Class has gotten heavier and looked too similar to the S-Class Sedan. Mercedes-Benz has taken that to heart and will offer something to satisfy the sporty, luxury coupe market. Just like the current model the 2015 coupe will share much of its interior from its big brother the S-Class Sedan. The sporty styling of a coupe mixed with the ultimate luxury of the sedan, sounds like a perfect combination. Also, fingers crossed the S-Class coupe will be offered as a 4 seater convertible. Look for more details later this year and we should see the coupe in the 2015 Model Year.

Car-to-X Technology

In an effort to continue the pursuit of “intelligent drive” and to improve the safety of all motorists, Mercedes-Benz has announced a new technological feet: Car-to-X technology. This will make Mercedes-Benz the first automobile manufacturer to implement a technology that allows cars to communicate with each other and other objects. This new technology will be implemented by the end of the year and a retrofit kit should be available for other late model Mercedes-Benz vehicles. The purpose of the technology will be to alert the driver to potential road traffic dangers at an early stage so that they can take appropriate action and even help to avoid critical situations arising in the first place.

SLS AMG Electric Drive Fastest EV in the World

 

The SLS AMG Electric Drive has been crowned the fastest EV thanks to its lap time around the Nuremburg Ring.

First a little background information on the SLS Electric Drive. It is an all-electric vehicle powered by 4 electric motors, which sit over each wheel of the vehicle. This setup allows the vehicle to have 4 wheel drive, which is the only way to control 737 lb-ft of torque. The 0-60 time would be under 4 seconds. This eco-friendly supercar produces the equivalent of 751hp. The only thing you’re missing compared to its big brother the SLS AMG GT is the roar of that V8. But you can always play something over the bang and olufsen surround sound system!

The SLS Electric Drive lapped the Nürburgring at a surprising 7 minutes and 56 seconds. This is officially the fastest time for an electric vehicle production car. To put that time in perspective it is only 16 seconds slower that the SLS AMG GT, which is considerably lighter. 

European Model Shown, this vehicle is rumored not to be available in the US.

This is by far the most unique and nicely equipped G63 AMG® we have ever had. This one is finished in designo Magno Night Black (Matte Finish) with the designo exclusive Black Leather.
