Mercedes GP Petronas’ Michael Schumacher and Nico Rosberg Finished the Monaco GP Practice

The drivers of Mercedes GP team, Nico Rosberg and Michael Schumacher just finished their practice for the Monaco GP. And although Schumacher got into a small accident which caused his session to end early, he still placed seventh and completed 33 laps in P2.

Schumi compared some part of their performance in Barcelona GP with how they performed during the practice session, in his comment he said, ““Our gap to the front seems to be less here than in Barcelona. With my crash this morning, we had made a set-up change for the run and I locked up braking for turn one. After that, my decision to go down the escape road was too late, which is why I hit the barrier. The mechanics did a super job and the car this afternoon was just as quick as this morning. What Nico showed in terms of one-lap pace looks good, and our long runs were also quite reasonable.” Other teammates are also happy with their productive day at the track.

The team’s time and performance is always being checked at every practice session, however, aside from tracking time and checking performance, the team was also tasked to compare the soft and super soft Pirelli tyre compound and set-up development for this practice session in Monaco GP.

Mercedes-Benz Launches Driver Training In Germany

According to accident statistics, drivers of Benz cars get involved in fewer road accidents compared to the drivers of other car brands. This is due to Mercedes-Benz safety philosophy. The statistics prove that the car manufacturer is serious in providing peace of mind to their loyal customers. In line with this thrust, the company is sponsoring driving safety training events all over Germany. These events are made to foster awareness of typical danger situations and to know how to respond.

According to Ulrich Mellinghoff, Head of Mercedes Safety Development, getting in the training is quite affordable, the half-day compact training event is priced at €89. They also made it available in twelve venues and four off-road locations so that participants do not need to travel far to learn driving techniques.

The training is set to target people from different expertise, from learner drivers, professionals and chauffeurs. The only requirement is a class 3/class B driver’s license. There’s no need to bring a car as the company will provide the training vehicles. This poses several advantage according Wolfgang Müller, Chief Instructor Mercedes-Benz Driving Events, the student “don’t need to worry about tire wear” and “their instructors know the cars intimately.” Car models to be used ranges from A-Class to S-Class and some Mercedes-Benz SUV and off-roaders.

Scoop Shot: C63 AMG Coupe Black Series from Mercedes-Benz

This latest version of Skunk Works by Mercedes-Benz AMG has been spied while it’s undergoing testing in its home country Germany. The C63 AMG Coupe Black Series is seen as one mean machine. With a 6.2 liter engine and modified to huff 510 horsepower it is undoubtedly powerful.

The design looks meaner than that of the normal silvery AMG renditions, the dark color is so masculine, much like saying “STAY AWAY!” even to the police. The sound of this vehicle is expected to be really loud as the Black Series models are not the silent-type. It is said to have a lot of carbon fiber in it, making it easier for the suspension. So, with this model, you’re expected to have a lifetime supply of adrenaline rush and masculine ego to boot.

Our sources say that the saloon version of his C63 AMG Coupe Black Series will be developed real soon. Let’s all stay tune.

Drive & Seek | Watch The New Mercedes-Benz Movie

This movie was taken from the series of films with Clive Owen. Yes, we’re talking about “The Driver”, the action film that did not do well when it came to believability. Imagine a driver-for-hire who made a living in a 5 series?

Setting aside the believability issue of the movie, the great news is that Mercedes-Benz released a promotional video for the C-Class Coupe. This more than 9-minute video is all about hot women robbers wearing skin suits, gunfire and a real crazy car chase minus the explosion. A very good-looking and funny video I’d say.

Watch the film by Mercedes-Benz.tv below.

The 2012 Mercedes Benz A-Class Sketch Spilled

It is way to early to reveal the 2012 Mercedes Benz A-Class’ design however, Belgian website Autscoops.be was able to get a hold of its sketch and gave us a sneak on what the new model will look like.

This car looks like the conceptual car without the deep creases that are all over the Concept A-Class. The hypnotic grille is also not in the new car as well, it seems. Mercedes-Benz is still expected to revamp a few things on the model as it definitely will show more individuality upon its release in the market.

Some of its characteristics also shows some of the CLS-class with its familiar mug and the curving roof-line. The model is a five-door A-class and the company‘s turbo-charging direct-injection technology is expected to be incorporated in the production model with additional gasoline options and new line up of diesel engines.

Pretty excited to see it in an auto show late this year. Reports say that it will make its premiere in September at the 2011 Frankfurt Motor Show in Germany.
