Presenting: the Grand Edition GL-Class Mercedes-Benz


Mercedes-Benz came out with a new special edition of the GL-Class, it has all the same great features but with more excellent and impressive stuff added. There are aesthetic changes and exterior improvements that will surely wow buyers and will be the cause of envy to those who already own the previous edition.

The Grand Edition boasts of the new bumpers that integrate LED lights, a variety of alloy wheels measuring 20 inches, smoked headlights and a larger chrome-accented front grille. The paint choices of the GL-class Grand Edition is now numerous as they added few more metallic finishes that matches the new exhaust tailpipe trim. The interior is not to be left behind as they added premium materials like two-color upholstery and optional nappa leather. The color choices are black and maroon or black and porcelain, which are both available with special stitching.

The engine is a V6 diesel unit that has 211 horsepower and 539 Nm of torque which is found under the quietest unit category of the German car manufacturer. But if this is not sufficient for you, you may opt to get the 4.6-liter V8 with 340 horsepower or the 5.5-liter at 388 horsepower and 528 Nm of torque which is priced over €99,000.

Have you seen the new GL-Class spy shots? While still heavily camouflaged, you can see a larger grille and new front fascia. This larger GL-Class has no official unveiling date so far, but sometime next year seems like a good chance. Don't forget to look for the GL63 AMG for even more power.

Mercedes-Benz of Lynnwood: Mercedes-Benz Offers InCar Hotspots

Long commute without wireless? Mercedes-Benz will offer InCar Hotspots (wireless internet access) for the GL-Class and M-Class vehicles. Currently, this service is available for select C-Class, CL-Class, E-Class and S-Class models.

The InCar Hotspot kit can be installed on your GL-Class or M-Class for about $1,300 (plus labor) and will includes a router to provide wireless access for up to four wireless-enabled devices from laptops to phones to an iPad and more!

The only drawback we see to this--you'll need a driver!

Mercedes-Benz of Lynnwood: GLK BlueTEC On The Way

With diesel becoming a popular option for drivers, Mercedes-Benz has announced that the 2012 GLK will also feature a 2.2-liter BlueTEC diesel engine. The fuel economy and quieter engine make this an excellent choice for diesel drivers. While this GLK will initially cost more than the gasoline version, the price can be offset by the increased fuel economy.

This BlueTEC technology isn't limited to the 2012 GLK-Class, the next-generation C-Class is planning on BlueTEC a engine, adding to the already established E, M, GL, and R-Class Mercedes-Benz.
