Mercedes' 125! Years inventor of automobile at the 2011 Festival of Speed


Classic models of Mercedes- Benz will participate in the hill climb with other sport vehicles at the 2011 Festival of Speed on July 1-3.

But that is not the highlight for the brand, as after the hill climb, Mercedes-Benz will be showcased at the exhibition titled “125! Years Inventor of the Automobile”. In the exhibit, history, style and power that is inherent in all Mercedes-Benz vehicles will be shown.

The legendary race cars Silver Arrow W 165 , the 300 SL and the 1990 model 190 2.5-litre 16V EVOLUTION II Touring Car plus the modern Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG GT3 will participate in the 1.86 km hill climb. Meanwhile, the exhibition will showcase the Benz Patent Motor Car of 1886, 1902 Mercedes Simplex, Mercedes-Benz 500 K Cabriolet B, the Mercedes-Benz 300 SL (W 198)gullwing coupé, 1975 Mercedes-Benz 450 SEL 6.9 and the Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG Coupé.

Following the traditions of the festival, the hill climb cars will be driven by legendary race car drivers such as Paul Stewart, Sir John Surtees, Bernd Schneider and Klaus Ludwig.
