The 2014 S-Class World Premiere

The 2014 S-Class had its world premiere this morning. The vehicle was designed with three principals in mind: Intelligent Drive, Efficient Technology and the Essence of Luxury. The goal is to build “the best automobile in the world” and as always they delivered on that goal.

2014 S-Class All LED Lighting

The 2014 S-Class coming this fall will be the first vehicle with all LED lighting! There will not be a single incandescent light bulb used for interior or exterior lighting. The S-Class accomplishes this feet by utilizing 490 LEDs. The recent surge in the use of LEDs is because the life expectancy of an LED is 3 times the average life expectancy of the vehicle itself. They also require a less energy to power and are more responsive. The S-Class also uses a mask to direct the light around cars ahead of you and away from cars heading in your direction. In both instances the purpose is to not blind or distract the drivers around you.

2014 Mercedes-Benz S-Class

Surprisingly the 2014 Mercedes-Benz S-Class has been leaked before its official release date of October 2013. These are the first un-camouflaged pictures we have seen of the All New 2014. Road and Track Magazine gets the shout out for having their cameras’ ready and catching this gorgeous car on the streets. As you can see this S-Class has a much simpler and cleaner design. From the vanity plates it looks like this S-Class chassis code will be W222 and this is the 6^th generation of the S-Class. Check out the interior where you can see a multitude of firsts for the S-Class and Mercedes-Benz.

·        Rear-seat entertainment/productivity suite with dual rear screens, individual massaging/reclining seats

·        Energizing massage system, which uses the "hot stone principle" and 14 separately actuated air cushions in the back rest, plus heat, to yield a new massage experience

All New 2014 S-Class

The All New 2014 S-Class Launch date is this September with the 4MATIC and AMG variants coming later in the year. The most exciting news is there are going to be multiple wheelbases and hopefully a Pullman version. Rumor has it that we will see a production version of the car in May. The S-Class taking a page from the SLs book is now utilizing more aluminum in its body. It will also be offered in 3 all new color options: Diamond Silver (Offered on other Mercedes models), Ruby Black (New), Anthracite Blue (New). There will also be new trim offerings: Myrtle Sunburst, Black Popular and “Metalized Ash.” Expect some more luxurious appointments like a Burmester Sound System and “Air Balance Package” which will ionize the air and add a slight perfume to it. 80 Years of Ultimate Protection By Mercedes-Benz Guard Models

For more than 80 years, Mercedes-Benz has been providing special protection cars in the world. It was Daimler-Benz who is the first car manufacturer to bring protected vehicles in 1928. Since then, the company has been making vehicles that has been tailored with protective elements made from aramid fiber and special steel for those who need maximum protection from gunfires and other violent acts.

The flagship model of the Mercedes-Benz Guard is the S 600 Pullman Guard, a limousine with luxurious interior and huge space. Along with the other armored vehicle models, the limousine’s protection is not visible on the outside and not just installed in an already manufactured vehicle, it is integrated in the body shell at the start of the production. This process makes the vehicles to adapt well to the heavier weight brought by the protective materials.

Some of the models for the Mercedes Benz Guard are the Mercedes-Benz S Guard, Mercedes-Benz E-Guard and the Mercedes-Benz G 500 Guard, all of which are engineered to provide high-protection at the VR4 level. These cars resist large-caliber revolver ammunition and protect passengers against increasing street crimes and drug-related violence. The VR6/VR7 protection levels provides higher protection for those threatened by terrorist attacks as the armor is designed to resist military weapons and hand grenades and other explosives.

The guard models not only protect the occupants from criminal acts by materials resistant of gun fire and explosives, the cars also offer absolute comfort and luxury by having all the components of the normal cars integrated in the vehicle.

Mercedes-Benz USA Reported Sales Increase of 5.9% Last Month

Mercedes-Benz USA is on a high as they reported sales of 20,306 vehicles, 5.9% increase from May 2010 figures.

The top car is the E-Class 9th generation with 5,751, a 5% increase over May 2010. C-Class is on the second with 4,936 and the third spot was taken by the GLK-Class with a 22.1% increase from last year. And although the R-Class crossover is not on the top three most number of sold vehicles, it garnered a 237% raise over May 2010 numbers.

The sales of Mercedes- Benz diesel lines increased at 108.5% for the month and 115.8% for the year. Sprinter vans increased by 126.1% for the month and 102.1% for the year. The high-end, SLS AMG had good 21 sales which means the YTD sales are up to 330.

All these numbers tally to give Mercedes-Benz USA a whooping 8.5% of increase year-to-date.
