Mercedes-Benz Concept Coupe SUV

Mercedes-Benz started the four door coupe styling trend back in 2005 when they launched the CLS-Class. Well taking that one step further they have carried that trend into SUVs. This is the first we’ve seen of a Mercedes-Benz SUV with coupe styling. It was rumored a few years back that they were working on something based on the M-Class. However, this is a drastic departure from what a normal M-Class looks like. We are hoping that this car will retain a lot of its design elements if it goes into production. So far we are assuming it will be called the MLC, and who knows maybe a couple version of the GLK-Class will be next. Considering no interior photos have been release we would assume it would look rather similar to an M-Class. Also, it’s no secret that this is Mercedes-Benz answer to the X6, and we can’t wait to see what AMG’s answer to the X6M will be! Currently, the power plant is a 3.0 liter bi-turbo V6, which is the same motor that will be in a 2015 ML350.

2015 S-Class Coupe

After almost 60 years the tradition of a large Mercedes-Benz Coupes continue, but it won’t be the CL-Class anymore. In 2015 Mercedes-Benz will launch the all new S-Class Coupe. With the launch of CLA-Class Mercedes-Benz has really shown a new more aggressive styling on all their models, the S-Class Coupe is no exception. As with the outgoing model the S550 Coupe will be offered with 4MATIC® all-wheel drive as standard. Standard horsepower on the 4.7 biturbo V8 offered in the S550 has been bumped to 449hp and 516 lb-ft of torque. Some firsts for the Mercedes-Benz Brand is a new touchpad controller for the infotainment system as well as optional heads-up display. However, this will also be offered on the upcoming 2015 C-Class. A unique feature to the S-Class Coupe is the inclusion of 48 Swarovski crystals in the headlights. As with the S-Class sedan expect a slew of standard safety and convenient features. Also keep your eye out for the S63 AMG® Coupe that will be coming out shortly after the launch of the 550.

2014 E250 BlueTEC®

Mercedes-Benz has always been a pioneer of diesel technology and their new turbo charged 4 cylinder diesel engine continues with that trend. This motor is currently only available in the GLK, but now the E350 BlueTEC® is being replaced by the more fuel efficient E250 BlueTEC®. With 45 mpg highway and 28 mpg city it achieves the best in class fuel efficiency for a midsize luxury sedan.  Another first for an E-Class diesel is the availability our 4MATIC® all-wheel drive. The diesels are popular here in the PNW, but it has always been a hard decision for consumers to choose between the fuel efficiency of the diesel or all-wheel drive. We’ll they can now get the best of both worlds. The E250 BlueTEC® should be arriving in our showroom shortly.

S-Class Coupe

With the All new 2014 S-Class coming out in about a month, there have been questions about when the new CL-Class is coming. Well, first things first, there will be no CL-Class anymore. Just like the CLK-Class made way for the E-Class Coupe and Convertible, the CL-Class is now the S-Class Coupe. So we should be seeing the All New S-Class coupe as a 2015 Model. As you can see from the official concept designs, it is far more aggressive than the S-Class. However, as usual it does carry over a lot of the new technology that will debut on the 2014 S-Class. Sportier design and all the tech goodies sounds like a winning combination. And don’t hold us to it, but there are rumors of a convertible version of the S-Class Coupe. Think back to when Mercedes-Benz showed off the Ocean Drive concept car. It was a large 4 passenger soft top convertible. We think it is very plausible we’ll see a soft top convertible S-Class sooner than later.

The AMG® S-Models are Beginning to Arrive

New for Model Year 2014 is the addition of S-Models to the AMG® lineup. The new S-Model is the replacement for the P30 Performance Package. As of this moment the S-Model is available for the CLS63 AMG® and the E63 AMG®. There is a difference of 27hp (550hp vs. 577) and 59 lb-ft of torque (590 lb-ft vs 531 lb-ft). Both the regular and S-Model AMG® vehicles are equipped with AMG® 4MATIC® Performance All Wheel Drive. The torque split is 33% front and 67% rear. The 4MATIC® is critically important in getting the massive 577hp to the road, for an impressive 0-60 time of 3.5 seconds.  All in all the S-Model CLS-Class and E-Class are quicker than a 2013 Lamborghini GALLARDO LP 560-4, 2013 Audi R8, 2013 Porsche 911 Carrera 4S and the 2013 Ferrari California. The visual differentiation between the Normal and S-Models are as follows: 19’’ 10 Spoke Titanium Wheels, Red Brake Calipers, Chrome Rocker Panel Insert, “S” AMG® Badge, Conjoined Quad Exhaust Pipes, Spoiler, Silver Contrast Stitching and Silver Seat Belts, Affalterbach Crest Pressed into headrests, to name a few.

BRABUS S63 AMG®

BRABUS is back at it with the All New 2014 S63 AMG®. Before any of us here in the US have even seen the S-Class, let alone the AMG® model, BRABUS has already tuned one and is showcasing all its custom upgrades. A simple plug and play ECU kit for the S63 AMG® will offer and additional 145hp, taking you up to 650hp. Take that a step further and start with new turbo chargers, exhaust system, etc. and you can get all the way to 730 hp. Aesthetically BRABUS offers a full body kit and 19, 20 or even 21’’ wheels.

Mercedes-Benz SLC

New details have emerged on the upcoming SLC. So what we know so far is that it will be the little sibling to the current SLS AMG®. We previously thought that the SLS AMG® was going to be discontinued  and replaced with the SLC. But that is not the case and we have learned to help differentiate the models, the SLC will not have the gullwing doors. The SLC will be lighter and smaller than the SLS, utilizing  carbon fiber and aluminum. Also it will have an all new engine, a 4.0 liter V8 engine producing 450 hp and the Black Series will have a 500 hp version of the same engine.  The SLC is going to be positioned as the main rival for the Porsche 911. Hopefully we will see the coupe and convertible version of the SLC sometime in 2015.
