Spy Photos of the Baby CLS

Mercedes-Benz looks like it is continuing on with the plan to create a small version of the CLS.

Based on the spy shots in this article, the baby-CLS will have the same built and design as the B-Class next generation. The standard version of the car will get a four-wheel drive while the AMG version will be an all-wheel drive.

Meanwhile, the engine and parts are still unknown but according to rumors, it would be equipped with 150 and 207 horsepower and would come in 1.6 and 2 L engines.

It is reported in an article from Benzinsider, that this vehicle will surely have the looks of the new CLS but in smaller dimensions. It is still unsure whether this will be released in the IAA Frankfurt show or it will just be for internal use.

One of the most famous tuner of Mercedes-Benz, Lorinser, released the first photos of their CLS C218 kit. The body of the vehicle has a new aerodynamic kit with new side air vents, rear boot lid, roof spoiler, bumper extensions and side skirts which made it look AMG-ish.

Other improvements that Lorinser put in the Mercedes-Benz CLS C218 are front fenders and a new exhaust system with four squared tailpipes. The body is painted in silver and matte black finish and it includes new two set of rims. Suspension is lowered too. No information about the engine has been released yet but we'll sure post it once it becomes available.

Mercedes Still Undecided about Maybach’s Future

Image via WikipediaA few weeks ago we’ve reported that Mercedes-Benz will officially say what will happen to Maybach on July 1st, however, they have updated that it will be delayed until the last week of July. There were two options then, to axe the brand or to sign a partnership with Aston Martin, the British carmaker.


For the latest news though, Automotive News said that a third option is now being considered. That is to keep the brand and make it a Mercedes-Benz sub-brand which will represent the top luxury car models like the GL-, CL- and SL- class, much like how AMG represents the company’s power and performance lines.


We’re still waiting for an official statement from Daimler and Aston Martin, as both companies still refuse to speak about their plans for Maybach.
